In this working session, we will discuss the use of the Inter-Rater reliability approach taken by Texas Southmost College (TSC) to change the deictic nature of assessment dialogue and engage in institution-wide assessment practices. AALHE members will participate in one (1) Inter-Rater Signature Assignment Evaluator (ISAE) work group session. AALHE participants will learn and demonstrate the use of the 5-point Likert Scale ISAE rubric to facilitate the authentic assessment of end-of-course assignments used to assess student learning outcomes. Upon completion of this workshop, AALHE members will be able to make meaningful connections between institution-level assessment techniques and faculty's capacity to identify gaps between their expectations and actual student mastery of content in their classrooms. Participants will be able to implement a more holistic approach to the development of an Authentic Assessment Model and incorporate this best practice almost immediately upon return to their campus.
